Juneteenth, also known as “Freedom Day” or “Emancipation Day”, is the oldest known African American celebration commemorating the end of slavery on June 19, 1865 — two years after President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation. The annual celebration took place in Austin, Central Texas and all across the U.S. during the weekend of June 16th to 19th, 2017. Here are some images of the Juneteenth Parade in Austin, Texas on Saturday, June 17th. #ATXDigitalPhotography|Michael Lewis ©2017 Michael Lewis Global Photography All Rights Reserved
