Duke Fakir of the Four Tops passed away at the age of 88
Nokoa The Observer by Michael Lewis Duke Fakir, a founding member and the last surviving member of The Four Tops, passed away at 88. He left a seven-decade legacy in music. The Four Tops is one of the original Motown groups signed in the 60s. Fakir died of heart failure in Detroit at this home on Monday, July 22, 2024, surrounded by his wife Piper, and loved ones, according to a statement provided by a spokesperson for the family. In 2022, Fakir released his memoir “I’ll Be There: My Life With the Four Tops.” Thank you, Duke, for allowing me to photograph the Four Tops during their performance in Austin in 2022 and to photograph the group backstage.
