Remembering Aretha Franklin. This is a look back at Aretha Franklin’s 2012 Essence Music Fest Main Stage appearance in New Orleans; where her performance included a medley of her greatest hits and a tribute to Whitney Houston.

This was the Queen of Soul third time performing at the Essence Fest. Franklin was honored with the “Power Award.” that year.

There will be an Essence Aretha Franklin and Patti LaBelle tribute with Ledisi, MC Lyte, Morris Day, Brandi, Doug E. Fresh and Sheila E on Friday, July 5, 2019, at the Superdome.
