Wilhelmina Delco will be 90 years old on Tuesday, July 16, 2019By Michael Lewis | Austin, Texas Wilhelmina R. Delco is pictured attending the African Summer Fest Fashion Show on Saturday. Delco proudly mentioned to me that she would be 90 years old on Tuesday, July 16. Please help me wish my friend a happy birthday. Delco is one of the best public servants and educators in the State of Texas. She cares about people. Did you know that Delco was the first African-American elected to the school board in Travis County? Delco was also the first African-American to serve as a Democrat in the Texas House of Representatives in District 50. She served for over 20 years. Thank you Wilhelmina Delco for more than 30 years of public service and leadership.
