Legendary Hollywood actor James Earl Jones passes away at 93
Legendary Hollywood actor James Earl Jones died at his home in Dutchess County, New York on Monday, September 9, 2024. He was 93. Jones was best known as the voice of the Star Wars villain Darth Vader and the voice of Mufasa in The Lion King. Jones earned three Tony Awards, two Emmy Awards, a Grammy award, over 200 acting credits, and an honorary Academy Award over his brilliant 60-year career.
I remember Jones best in the movie, Claudine with co-star Diahann Carroll, during my first year of college. It was one of the featured movies in my dormitory. I attended a Diahann Carroll event at the Long Center the last time she was in Austin. I will miss James Earl Jones and Diahann Carroll. Rest in Peace, my friends.
