Opal Lee spoke at the Harriet Tubman Journey to Freedom farewell ceremony in Bastrop Texas
Opal Lee, the longtime civil rights leader and grandmother of Juneteenth spoke at the Harriet Tubman sculpture farewell ceremony on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at the Kerr Community Center in Bastrop at 5:30 pm. Wesley Wolford, the sculpture artist has been exhibited in many prominent locations, but this is the first time it will have been hosted in Texas.
